Good Friday service is held by Christians around the world to commemorate the persecution, crucifixion, and death of Jesus Christ. Christians around the world marked Good Friday at the start of the Easter holiday this weekend. In Kenya, it calls for peace and forgiveness according to Christian doctrine. However today Christians remain silent and the altar bare to signify morning through prayers, fasting, and reflection.

But why is it called Good Friday and yet it marks the suffering and the subsequent death of our Lord Jesus Christ? Should it not be called "Sad or Dark Friday?. It is called Good Friday because of His Suffering and death the Lord Jesus brought to us the ultimate good. He suffered Our punishment and died our death. This he paid our penalty, he secured for us the only righteous with which we are acceptable before God.

2020 Easter has arrived amidst the COVID-19 pandemic with many of us quarantined to our homes. The hope we have in our risen savior Jesus Christ dealt falter to fade in the midst of the pandemic.and with this regard, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe yesterday announced 5 cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Kenya as the tally rose to 189.

The CS while addressing the media Outside Afya house Nairobi stated that of the 5 cases two were Kenyans, two foreign nationals and only one from quarantine facilities. Kagwe stated that 5 individuals had already been Isolated and contact tracing had started. While reiterating the government stipulated protective measures, Kagwe insisted that everyone should stay at home during the Easter holiday as no activities will be going on in the country while basing his plea on the shut down of schools, bars, hotels and banning of gatherings.

The also warned individuals for flouting government rules lamenting the BodaBoda operators who were being used to break the lockdown directive issued by President Uhuru Kenyatta restricting movements in and out of Nairobi, Kwale, Kilifi and Mombasa counties putting their business and those of others in Jeopardy.

Former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Amollo Odinga has asked Kenyans to take the Corona pandemic issue with a lot of seriousness by donating almost 15 million Kenyan shillings to fight COVID-19. The Deputy President also insisted that Kenyans should observe the government and health rules with full effectiveness to avoid loss of life.

Senator James Orengo on the other side stated that as a nation and people we are in together and must confront COVID-19 as an army, few of across should not be turned into stigma but into a resolve to fight the pandemic.

Mombasa governor Hassan Joho has upgraded coast general Teaching and Referral hospital with equipment with 64 million. They also gave free masks and sanitizers of the Likoni channel. With respect to this Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta has now ruled for a total lockdown as the last resort and Kenyans should follow directive measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

President Uhuru today in his Easter message sends a message of hope as the country spends Easter at home."I urge all Kenyans both at home and abroad to reflect on the resurrection story and remember that all trust, even suffering comes to an end through unity in God's faith". The Deputy President also gave a word of hope to Kenyans.

"This is a special day to reflect on the suffering and death of Jesus Christ on the cross, everything that we face today, will be intervened through the suffering and death of Jesus Christ who paid for our sins. On the other hand Former Prime Minister Stated.." Kenyans let us be humble and celebrate our Easter at homes to pray for our Lord Jesus Christ so that the problems that we face today shall come to an end through His suffering and death on the cross".

Worldwide now the USA accounts for one-quarter of the total global COVID-19 pandemic. Donald Trump USA president said the US would put a hand in its funding of the World Health Organization accusing the agency of being biased towards Beijing and failing to care for the pandemic. Trump also said that the US was responsible for the biggest proportion of other money and will withhold the funding until his administration looks into it for the handing of the outbreak.

The UK government had called for the USA to ask the US for 200 ventilators which are key infer there was first struck off cases last year, officials took tentative steps back towards normally partially reopening it after more than two months with total isolation of it's 11 million residents.

Europe has suffered the spread of COVID-19 with millions across the countries facing a total lockdown in the streets of Paris, Rome and Madrid which is eerily empty. Other countries across the whole world are facing total lockdown to fight COVID-19 pandemic.

Nevertheless, WHO is leading and coordinating the global effort to combat the COVID-19 pandemic supporting countries to prevent, detect and respond to the pandemic.
