After a lot of uncertainty in football leagues since the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic, Europe’s top football leagues such as Spain Laliga, English Premier League, Germany Bundesliga, France Ligue1, Italy Serie A and many others; have seen them declare and award league leaders. The champions have celebrated their winning this season without their vital supports, that is, their fans.

In France, France Ligue1 never restarted due to fears of COVID-19 pandemic in the country which saw league leaders PSG being declared the champions with. This made Marseille qualify for the group stage of the Champions League, while Rennes went into the qualification rounds. Lille and Nice secured a direct ticket into the Europa League group stage, with Reims going through qualification rounds. In the Ligue 2, Lorient was declared and awarded the league trophy.

In Spain, Real Madrid was declared the champions of the Spanish Laliga Competition having garnered a total of 87 points ahead of Barcelona. The league saw the likes of Villareal and Real Sociedad securing a spot in the UEFA Europa League. Leganes, Real Mallorca and Espanyol lost their chances of playing in the competition next season hence relegated. Huesca and Cadiz CF have greater chances of being promoted to Laliga in the 20/21 season.

With two games to go, Juventus have been declared the Serie A champions last night, after a 2-0 win against Sampdoria. Goals from Christiano Ronaldo and Federico Bernardeschi sealed the trophy for the “Old Lady”. Inter Milan, Lazio, and Atalanta have already secured their spot in the Champions League next season. SPAL and Brescia have already been relegated with Lecce struggling to maintain their play in the Serie A next season.

In England, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool won the EPL title with accumulative 99 points, 18 points clear ahead of defending champions Manchester City. Manchester United and Chelsea finished in the third and fourth places respectively. The league has seen the likes of Bournemouth, Watford and Norwich City being demoted to the Skybet Championship. Leeds United have qualified to play the EPL 20/21 season.

Bayern Munich won the Germany Bundesliga title with a total of 82 points ahead of Borussia Dortmund who came in second place. Werder Bremen, Fortuna Dusseldorf and Paderborn lost their chances of playing in the competition next season. Bayer Leverkusen and Hoffenheim will play the Europa league while Dortmund, RB Leipzig, and Borussia Monchengladbach play the UEFA champions league.
