The goal addition comes days after he become the second most all-time goal scorer for France; after scoring two goals for Les Bleus in the friendly game against Ukraine in October in the process surpassing France legend Michel Platini.

The Chelsea striker, however, is now just 7 goals behind the Arsenal legend, Thiery Henry who has scored 51 international goals for France football team. But there are higher chances Giroud may overtake Henry to become the top scorer for Les Bleus.

Even though Giroud has had fewer chances of play for Chelsea, the 34-year-old striker has always produced an impressive performance for France. With this, Frank Lampard may be convinced to offer him a chance to play a full match as the Premier League resumes this weekend as Chelsea travel to Newcastle United.
